Profile : Reverend Clarence Riley

Clarence Riley was born in the United Kingdom and emigrated to Jamaica at a very young age. He made a commitment to serve the Lord as a young teenager aged 16. From that early age, Clarence began a walk with the Lord full of enthusiasm and passion concerning advancing the kingdom of God. He returned to England in 1990 with his wife Marjorie and their first daughter Tiffany and went on to have two further daughters, Orika and Monique. During this time, he attended the New Testament Church of God Herne Hill, where he served as Youth Pastor and Secretary/Treasurer for over 12 years. He was also a member of the Church & Pastor’s Council, while still carrying out his ministerial duties at the South Norwood Mission.

In 2005, Clarence embarked on a number of ministerial advancement courses at the NTCG Leadership Training Centre in Northampton, where he successfully completed and attained qualifications in ministerial studies. In 2015, Rev Riley was inaugurated as the Pastor of the New Testament Church of God South Norwood where he is currently serving. Clarence is a strong supporter of community and is part of the South Norwood network of churches. He serves as a Track & Field Coach for children under twelve years old. Clarence enjoys working with children and young people and spends a significant amount of his time ministering to them. .

Clarence works as a Park Client Area Officer with the management of 30 parks and open spaces. He also serves as a Green Flag Judge with ‘Keep Britain Tidy’ where he judges parks and open spaces for Green Flag status.

With a great sense of humour and a unique ability to get everyone involved, Pastor Clarence is extremely popular, especially with children and young people. Through fun, laughter, music, visual aids, fellowship and the Word of God Clarence uses a range of avenues to enable everyone to come to the knowledge of the truth that is in Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. Rev Clarence has a passion that every individual should strive to reach their full potential. His aim is to follow Christ, in obedience to the Holy Spirit, continually striving to reach his full potential in God.
